Doubly terminated Tourmaline with Stilbite (Bill Larson Coll.)

A striking, short, stout, doubly terminated tourmaline crystal from the renowned Himalaya Mine with a RARE and rich association of a preferential coating of pearlescent snow-white stilbite blades! The trigonal gemmy tourmaline has a classic "Himalaya pink" body with an unusual and colorful highly modified cranberry-red pinacoidal termination. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, it is just plain pretty and has a higher color saturation, more than most! Ex Bill Larson San Diego County Pegmatite Collection and long on display at his Pala International shop in Fallbrook. Bill was the owner of the mine and collected the piece in the 1970s or 80s. A rare and excellent doubly terminated tourmaline and stilbite combination from the Himalaya Mine. Mass is 51 grams. Better in person.
