Item Description

Impressive, dramatically sculptural, doubly terminated old-time bi-colored tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. The matte lustre olive-green pinacoidal temination is beautifully underlain by a gorgeous 4 mm, gem emerald-green section. A layered, gemmy/translucent, classic "Himalaya pink" section follows. The stunning steeply pyramidal basal termination with the fantastic notch is translucent olive-green. Very nearly pristine, with only trival termination bruising. The lustrous, textbook, trigonal, well-striated prism has 45 grams mass. This very fine old-timer was collected in the 1950s to 1960s, when Ralph Potter owned the mine. Pala Properties (Bill Larson) did not acquire the mine until 1977.
