Item Description

A classic sharp doubly terminated staurolite "cross" from this well-known Maine locality, that is now extinct and is buried under a lawn (MINDAT). The well-formed crystals have high luster and reddish-brown color. Bruising is noted on the termination edge, but this remains a highly represesntative example from this well-known locale. valued $500-750. Ex George Elling collection
