Item Description
An interesting and sculptural large 360-degree tourmaline from the Erongos. The highly lustrous jet-black trigonal crystal has a typical sharp pyramidal termination. Some of the prism faces are typically well-striated, with one side having striking etched secondary schorl overgrowths with embedded contrasting feldspar. Prominent contacts on other sides, where other schorls once lay, but with no damage, per se, are dramatic accents. Technically doubly terminated, as the broken base is rehealed. A fascinating and unusual large tourmaline with every turn presenting a different perspective. Ex Shields Flynn Collection.
