Sri Lanka sapphires set the standard for form and quality of the species and this is an excellent example. This gemmy/translucent doubly terminated crystal has a pretty, variable cornflower-blue body with scattered colorless patches. The typically layered crystal has lightly frosted faces and a very interesting tapering and swelling body. 24.77 carats. Valued at $800. Not too many of this size and quality on the market these days. They are all heated, cut, and sold to the crazy Chinese market that is buying up as much as they can.
