Item Description
This beautiful, textbook hexagonal, doubly terminated crystal has gorgeous violet-red color and glassy luster. The termination area is gemmier. The crystal glows, when backlit. This is an excellent thumbnail of the rarest of beryl species. There has been very little recent production from this famous locale. In fact, almost none. And there will never be much more, I would bet. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12909. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
