Item Description
A beautiful red beryl crystal from Utah. The doubly terminated crystal has high luster and gorgeous violet-red color. Portions of the crystal are very gemmy and portions are included with rhyolite. Rhyolite coats part of the front and terminations and all of the back but nevertheless this is a huge and important thumbnail crystal. The backlit photo highlights the gorgeous, intense color saturation. A highly representative thumbnail of the rarest of beryl species. There has been very little recent production from this famous locale. In fact, almost none. And there will never be much more, I would bet, with the current politics and mining there. 16.42 carats, or just over 3 grams.
