Item Description

Gene Meieran assembled a world-class sulfide collection and this is an outstanding example from the famous mines at Santa Eulalia. This is an extremely fine, pristine, doubly terminated, floater pyrrhotite crystal. The striking sculptural, tapered, hexagonal crystal looks like a two-tiered smokestack. The crystal exhibits brassy luster and layered prism faces. A cluster of tiny melted-look galena cubes on the bench are a super accent. Specimens of this quality date to the 1960s or 70s finds. Classic and superb material from this locale, certainly among the very finest we have offered at auction. Valued at $400.
