Item Description
Monteponi Mine phosgenite is an Italy and Europe classic species. This is an outstanding old classic, which many people consider the best of species. An impressive, doubly terminated, highly lustrous, translucent to transparent blocky gray crystal is aesthetically attached to the shard of phosgenite-rich matrix. Quite gemmy, you can see right through some sections of the terminations to the other end. This very fine crystal is nearly pristine, with only one small bruise on a termination edge. Specimens of this quality are seldom available, especially at auction! Ex Larry Conklin Collection. His 20+ year-old label has a $500 price. This classic doubly terminated phosgenite is worth $1500-2000 today.
