Doubly terminated gemmy Kunzite, with base

A beautiful and sculptural large tapered kunzite crystal from the recent find at the less well-known Oceanview Mine in July, 2010. The gemmy and lustrous crystal has gorgeous lilac color. Most of the doubly terminated crystal is water-clear gem, beautifully striated and has extreme waxy luster. Both terminations are etched. The broad edge of the trigonal crystal is cleaved, with the rest being pristine. The C-axis shots really shows the beautiful pink color. Highly representative and excellent, gem-quality cutter material from this recent find, that was featured in a recent issue of Rocks & Minerals. 69 grams mass. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $145, for free.
