Item Description
Clinohumite is a rare member of the Humite Group of silicates and is known from only a handful of world localities in fine quality crystals. Typically, the mineral has an orange color, but a few years ago, some very impressive red clinohumites were found in Afghanistan in the same area where the famous lapis lazuli is mined. This crystal is a superb, sharp, well-formed, doubly terminated, gemmy (when backlit), rich red monoclinic crystal from this contemporary discovery.
