Item Description

A classic, sharp, large, doubly terminated, floater fluorapatite crystal from this famed Ontario locale. The highly lustrous, textbook hexagonal, variegated mahongany-brown crystal has nifty areas of translucent juicy, apple-green, gemminess. The terminations are distinctly different, adding pizzazz. Nearly pristine. One side has a contact, but there is very little damage and is out-of-sight in the preferred display view. Outstanding old-time material from the Robert Nowakowski Collection and previously in the Steven Chamerlain Collection. This locality is one of Ontario's most famous mineral localities and was internationally known in the nineteenth century (MINDAT). It produced a 700 pound fluorapatite crystal and a zircon 1 foot in diameter!
