Faden quartz specimens are not that common from Switzerland. This very fine doubly terminated example is from the obscure Schin gorge and is very rare from this locale. A parallel-growth cluster of flattened, water-clear, doubly terminated, faden quartz crystals has a distinctive faden or "string" running the length of the piece. Part of one end is contacted, but has no damage, per se. This certainly has negligible impact on the overall quality of this fine piece. The rest of the piece is in excellent condition.
