Item Description

An adorable, pristine, 4.7 cm doubly terminated, bi-colored celestine crystal is aesthetically attached to a spare bit of limestone matrix on this elegant miniature from the well-known and difficult to collect location at Bull Creek area of Northwest Austin. The pretty steel-blue termination of the primary pointed termination above the colorless mid-section is contrasted by the colorless chisel termination on the opposite end. The orthorhombic crystal has satin luster faces. Texas is known as mostly a mineral wasteland, but this is a very fine example from the locale. Celestine and minerals from the mercury deposits at Terlingua are some of the few species that Texas has produced in excellent crystallized examples. From a 2020 find, this is amazingly sharp for the material.
