Item Description
A beautiful, faceted, gem-like, doubly terminated calcite crystal from the Pune Quarry near Bombay circa the early 1980s - this is a famous find, very distinct, from which you rarely see specimens today. This very complex, glassy, rhomb is transparent and has multiple faces. Some crystal faces are water-clear and some are lightly frosted, giving an unusual effect when rotated. Small mordenite balls on either side are a very nice accent. Both terminations are lightly cleaved, but this remains a very showy and uncommon calcite varietal from this noted locale. This is older Indian material. Ex Jaime Bird Collection. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
