Item Description

An exceptional and rare style calcite from this famous Trap Rock quarry. A beautiful, very glassy, transparent to translucent doubly terminated crystal is aesthetically set on a smaller calcite and a bit of matrix. The terminations are nearly pristine, with only a trivial rubbing noted on one end. The noted bit of side wear, lower in the center on one side is noted, but is certainly only a very modest detraction to this outstanding calcite from this locale. Modest pink fluorescence. A very choice two-sided calcite and rare from the Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection and valued at $395 by the former dealer.
