Item Description
An impressive, large, doubly terminated bournonite crystal with metallic luster and nifty iridescence. The textbook, orthorhombic crystal has striking stepped-growth faces, showing incipient classic cogwheel form. The display views and terminations are in fine shape, with just a bit of bruising noted. The contacting on the back is mostly out of sight. Bournonite from other locales were expensive, until these fine examples from the Yaogangxian Mine starting coming out. Excellent and highly representative large material from the Robert Whitmore Collection. Valued at $1000. Seldom on the market today.
