Item Description
A classic, old-time specimen from the famous iron mines at Frizington. A fine 3.7 cm, doubly terminated, glassy, transparent to translucent, barite crystal is aesthetically set on massive barite matrix covered with tiny, iron oxide-tinted, dolomite rhombs. The barite is nearly pristine, having only barely noticeable edgewear. Periphery wear is noted on the specimen, but has very minimal impact on the quality of this fine piece. Excellent, very showy combination material from this historic district. Around a 100 years old or older. Ex Larry Krause dealer stock.
