Doubly terminated Anatase xl (classic locale) Kay Robertson Coll.

Item Description

A textbook, sharp, tapered, doubly terminated anatase steeple from this famous locale. The splendent, striated crystal is mostly black, but bright light reveals beautiful flashes of indigo-blue color. The label "Tysse" was probably given by collectors in the 1970s to keep this and other localities in this area and nearby a secret. A classic and excellent thumbnail crystal from the Kay Robertson Collection # 12320. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
