Item Description

These beautiful, lustrous pyrite floater "suns" formed between an ancient bed of shale and clay near Sparta, Illinois. This large one is complete all-around, front and back and is rare, in that there are two side-by-side disks grown together. The radial appearance of the pyrite is very interesting and the pyrite has a flashy, chatoyant shimmer. This one has an intensely silvery/brassy finish. Very highly representative of this unusual occurrence. This is one of the few multi-disk style, that we have offered at auction. Ex Wouter Van Tichelen Collection. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
