Item Description
This is a hefty endcap to a nodule of this rare Copper & Arsenic amalgam (that is really all it is : Cu3As, an amalgam of the two metals). It measures 320 grams (nearly a pound), and is a beautiful, polished, complete slice showing rich silvery veins of domeykite in calcite. These are often stablilized with a shellac to preserve them and prevent powdery specks coming off the unpolished side, though this one is not coated (yet). Ex. University of Arizona Mineral Museum collection. Note this piece comes with a museum display label of transparent plastic.
