Item Description

The famous Eagle Mine produced some of the finest crystallized sulfide specimens from any mine in Colorado, along with associated carbonates. This small cabinet sized specimen hosts a few very sharp, rhombic. tan colored crystals of Dolomite sitting on crystallized black Sphalerite with associated soft golden metallic colored Pyrite crystals. The largest Dolomite crystal measures 1.6 cm. The piece is in decent condition but there are some contacted areas here and there. The piece displays well on its own without the aid of a base or clay. A very attractive specimen of this well known material from this now defunct locality. From the collection of Lee B. Burnett of Morrison, Colorado (#LB527)
