Dolomite with Mottramite, Wulfenite, and Calcite in complete cast

This outstanding and significant Tsumeb cabinet piece is a literal mineral cornucopia, both in the shape of the specimen and its mineral richness from this famous mine. The horn itself is composed of curving plates of pink crystals of Cobaltoan Dolomite, and the Dolomite crystals exposed on the inside are abundantly decorated with dark green Mottramite, blades of Wulfenite, and minor Calcite. The windowpane Wulfenites reach up to 5 mm on edge, and the Mottramites are evenly and attractively distributed throughout the inner pocket of the piece. This is a choice, aesthetic specimen that nicely represents several important species from Tsumeb, the greatest mine of them all. Recently deaccessed from the Tim Sherburn collection. It is unique, as it preserves an entire pocket of crystals within a cast of dolomite after some previous mineral...a remarkable survivor! valued $2000-2500.
