Dolomite with Chalcopyrite

Item Description

Tantalizing specimen of lustrous, salmon-pink colored 'saddle' Dolomite rhombs with a sprinkled seasoning of tiny iridescent brass colored Chalcopyrite crystals for accent. The intergrown crystals are stacked one upon the other building up spherical mounds or Dolomite 'rosettes', up to 2 cm, across the display face. The slightly curved rhombs just sparkle as they reflect light from multiple angles. These Moroccan Dolomites from Touissit are a definite doppelganger to the Dolomites of Arkansas, oddly enough - they look so similar. There is minor periphery edge wear with some crystal nicks but overall the piece is in great condition. An interesting almost crescent shaped piece with an unexpected 4.8 cm of relief making for a beautiful 3 dimensional specimen. Moderate orange fluorescence. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl.
