Item Description
The famous Kolwezi Mine in DR Congo is one of the most famous and prolific localities in the entire country. Here we have a beautiful and colorful example of the famous Cobalt-bearing Dolomites from this mine. It should be noted that the Dolomite crystals from this locality are typically much smaller, often forming aggregates or clusters, so you just don't see solitary, euhedral crystals very often. This piece features a rich coverage of strong pink colored spherical aggregates, which have formed over blocky rhombic white Calcite matrix. If you collect minerals of Africa / DR Congo, worldwide carbonates, or if you're just a fan of showy examples of well-known species, this is a great piece of this elusive material from a well-known mine.
