Item Description
Dolomite is extremely rare from the famous mines at Dalnegorsk. It is reported for only the Verchniy and Nikolaevskiy Mines. This is an incredibly scuptural intergrown cluster of rounded dolomite forms, including pointed artichoke head-looking forms and spheres. The large cluster looks like barbells with pointed ends! There are a few flattened, glassy calcite rhombs attached to one side. We have not seen anything remotely like this from Dalnegorsk! This is a very strange looking 360-degree specimen with only two points of attachment. It must date to the early 1990s, when Dalnegorsk material first came to market. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and valued by him at $200, 10-20 years ago. A must for the locality or species collector!
