Item Description
The Shangbao Mine is one of the premier specimen locations known for incredibly multi-colored Fluorites. In the mid-2000's, combination specimens of a rare pearlescent pink dolomite and quartz, although without Fluorite, started coming out. This is a fine example of that striking combination but with the over the top addition of iridescent Pyrite cubes up to 7mm. The sharp, lustrous, pink rhombohedral of Dolomite measuring up to 2.3 cm on edge are complemented with needle to 1.9 cm prismatic colorless Quartz. These are both resting on a contrasting bed of metallic luster, multi-colored cubic Pyrite crystals. There is minor contacting to the Dolomites on the bottom but the remaining Dolomite, Quartz and Pyrite crystals are in great condition. A extremely rare high quality combination piece that is hard to find from this famous mine. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl. Historic material now from 20 years ago, almost.
