Tsumeb is considered the greatest mine of all, with all kinds of interesting combinations and replacements; and this small cabinet combination piece does its reputation proud. This cast is composed of hundreds of tabular Dolomites pseudomorphed after an unknown, bladed mineral (many say Calcite was the original mineral but it could perhaps have been another generation of dolomite), all over an enclosed hollow space where something else once sat. These are colorful and well-formed, and many range up to 8 mm on edge. The underside appears to be all rhombs. The Dolomite is sprinkled with hundreds of mm-sized Calcite crystals that are highly fluorescent. This multi-sided Tsumeb specimen is both dramatic and rare.
