Dolomite on Quartz

Item Description

This is one of the showiest Dolomite specimens I've seen from the Tri-State District (Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma). These pieces are typically must more reserved in terms of their presenation and crystallization. This eye-catching small cabinet specimen hosts several groups of attractive light salmon colored Dolomite crystals, which have formed in elongated scalenohedra that comprise gorgeous "sprays" sitting on little Quartz crystals on host rock matrix. The largest individual crystal measures 1.7 cm long. Very good condition all around, the only real damage is around the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. So showy and fine quality, a beautiful specimen of this classic material.
