Item Description
A really attractive and interesting specimen from Brumado featuring classic compressed twinned crystals of soft golden to colorless Dolomite (with slight "phantom" zoning) that shows selective alternating WATER CLEAR clarity and matte luster, associated with a single gemmy crystal of Quartz. Additionally, there is a single colorless rhomb of Magnesite (contacted) on the piece, and the back of the specimen features some pastel blue-green colored crystals of an unknown mineral with a resinous luster (possibly Mica or Talc?). Good quality, especially from the standpoint of the Dolomite, as the species is rarely seen in such well-formed twins, let alone GEM crystals. Very little damage overall, and the piece honestly looks better in person, as it was a bit difficult to photograph. The best of these pieces are some of the biggest and gemmiest twinned specimens from any world locality. The largest Dolomite crystal measures 1.7 cm across.
