Dolomite (excellent twin)

A fantastic, very good sized Dolomite twin from the famous Azcárate Quarry in Spain. These are some of the most iconic Dolomite crystals in the world with their signature silvery color, razor-sharp rhombic form and gorgeous penetration twins. This small cabinet specimen features a predominant 3.8 cm rhomb with smooth, slightly striated, lustrous faces which is twinned (penetration twinned) on opposing corners by a second Dolomite crystal of equal quality. It might appear that there are three crystals on the specimen, but if you flip it over, you'll see that there are only two rhombs, which makes for a cool optical illusion. The crystals are gemmy and even show slight internal phantoms. The piece is in very good shape on the front and back, though there are a couple contacted edges, so it's not 100% complete. An excellent piece of this classic material. Priced in the inventory at $700.
