Dolomite (classic locale)

Item Description

Wonderful 6.8 cm cluster of sharp, interpenetrating, transparent to translucent, distinctive light gray dolomite rhombohedrons from the world's finest crystallized examples of the species - the two quarries at Eugui, Spain. The rhombs have fine pearly luster and are lightly striated. The impressive dominating rhomb is 5.4 cm on the diagonal. The cluster is dramatically set on the sculptural large matrix covered with an earlier generation of smaller dolomite rhombohedrons. The cluster is complete all-around and in excellent shape. A crystal on the right side of the cluster has a contacted face and a small bruise on the top edge of the large crystal is barely noticeable.
