Dolomite is RARE from the renowned and historic Rayas Mine at Guanajuato. Sparkly, two-toned, sugary drusy dolomite richly covers this very sculptural and aesthetic combination from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection. A 4.0 cm, dolomite-covered, large sharp complex calcite rhomb dramatically dominates the piece. Drusy dolomite nearly covers the quartz-rich matrix, EXCEPT on one side, where a forest of glassy quartz points proudly projects outward. This must have been a significant find, as even the mine level is known. Choice, RARE and very showy combination material.
