Item Description
A rare sample of the copper sulfide, Djurleite from Norway. This piece came labled to us as coming from a place called Kviteseid, but this is a municipality, and I can't find any record of mining taking place there. Djurleite is reported from Telemark from a few localities. This piece features patches of silvery-grey Djurleite associated with mint green Malachite (possibly Langite) in/on Quartz matrix. Attention rare mineral collectors, pick this one up, as they are almost never seen on the market. This is the only piece of this species that we've seen from Norway, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371 Do not miss out on this one.
