Dipyramidal Quartz on Hematite (Belsky Coll.)

Item Description

Gemlike, glassy, dipyramidal quartz crystals to 1.6 cm are aesthetically set on a banded hematite crust covered with scintillating, jet-black, hematite blades. This showy and excellent piece is from the famous Beckermet Mine in Cumbria. A bit of termination/periphery wear is noted on the large quartz crystal, but is certainly a modest detraction. Classic combination material from this noted locale. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. His collection recently became available to us through his family.
