Dioptase with Plancheite

When one thinks of fine dioptase, localities such as Tsumeb and Reneville usually come to mind. This old locality, however has put out a small number of outstanding dioptase specimens with this nice plancheite association. This striking, two-sided specimen, with a matrix of solid dioptase has large prismatic, elongated, terminated crystals to 3.0 cm! The color is deep rich emerald-green, the luster is very high and the crystals are gemmy to translucent. This very fine piece is further enhanced by a couple of pods of powder-blue plancheite, a rare accessory. Really choice with large crystals and rare combination material from this locality!
