Dioptase with Chrysocolla

Item Description

This showy and rare Arizona small cabinet specimen from the famous Morenci Mine is filled with hundreds of electric rich emerald green, sparkling, thin, prismatic crystals of Dioptase which are sprinkled on a mixed layer of blue-green Chrysocolla and forest-green Malachite. In good condition with the now exposed Dioptase vug protecting the millimeter sized crystals and providing a non-uniform wavy surface for added visual interest. These highly desirable Dioptase specimens are difficult to find in today's market as they only turn up in old collections. This is a great example of this rare Arizona material showing a captivating sparkle and vivid emerald green color. Self collected by Bob Hauck, decades ago (in the 1980s).
