Dioptase (Type Locality)

Item Description

Gemmy and lustrous, rich emerald-green, dioptase crystals richly cover the quartz-rich matrix on this showy specimen from the Type Locality - Altyn-Tyube in Kazakhstan. The dioptase crystals reach 1.7 cm on this excellent piece. The color and quality of these dioptase crystals is better than average for this locale. A bit of periphery wear is noted, but is a modest detraction. This is a very highly representative example of the species and famous locale. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
