Item Description

Scintillating, gemmy and lustrous, rich emerald-green Dioptase microcrystals richly cover the matrix on this fine specimen from an obscure Arizona locale that was discovered in 1888 and worked intermittently until 1964. We used a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to illustrate their quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10297). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
