Item Description
This piece came labeled as "Bouse, Yuma Co., Arizona", but Bouse is now in La Paz County, so the piece predates the creation of La Paz County in 1983. I cannot find an actual listing for Dioptase from Bouse, and the only one report for Dioptase crystals in Yuma County is the Pride and Joy Claim, but I'm going with the information on the label for now. It would make a great addition to any secondary ore mineral suite or a collection of Arizona minerals. Brilliant, tiny, emerald green trigonal crystals of Dioptase sit atop host rock matrix. The crystals are micros, but they look beautiful up close, and we have used a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4254). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
