Item Description

A hard to find specimen of Dioptase from the famed Morenci Mine in Arizona. Dioptase is fairly rare from most Arizona localities, and Morenci has produced the most specimens in the modern era. This piece is filled with dozens if not hundreds of micro crystals of Dioptase with perfect prismatic trigonal form and that deep emerald green hue for which the species is known. Best viewed under magnification, as the crystals are tiny, but still very well-formed. These are certainly some of the most well-known examples of Dioptase from any US locality.
