Item Description
A remarkable, unique and colorful specimen from the lesser known and abandoned open pit Tantara Copper Mine in the Congo. This is a very exiciting piece for any collector of pseudomorphs or even copper minerals. This is a pseudomorph specimen of translucent, blue-green dioptase that has replaced sharp, scalenohedral "dog tooth" calcite crystals. This piece is obviously not a top shelf display specimen, but it is an important reference piece from a old pocket of material that was never before seen. Do not miss out on this interesting miniature, as it is the only one we have seen. The largest pseudomorph on the specimen measures 9 mm. Valued at $900-1200.
