Dioptase on Plancheite (Type Locality) ex Belsky Coll.

Item Description

Rich emerald-green, gemmy to translucent and lustrous, dioptase crystals to 1.5 cm aesthetically fill a vug in sculptural matrix of powder-blue plancheite. Mindouli is the Type Locality for plancheite. While not as well-known as famed Tsumeb or Reneville for dioptase, this locality has produced some excellent examples of the species. And on contrasting blue plancheite, the combination is especially attractive. The primary dioptase crystals are in fine shape and the bit of periphery wear is a very modest detraction.
