Dioptase on Plancheite cast

Exquisite, well-balanced specimen composed of three Dioptase clusters sitting on a sky-blue Plancheite cast. The deep-green, lustrous Dioptase crystals are about .7 cm in size, and the three clusters are spread out perfectly across the Plancheite. The Plancheite itself is a classic crust, cast from what were probably Quartz crystal terminations. Quartz is a common association at Kaokoveld. The sharpness and unusual nature of this piece create a fantastic aesthetic.
