Item Description

Dioptase on mottramite is rare from the famous and now-closed Tsumeb Mine. This showy and excellent old-timer features very gemmy, emerald-green, dioptase crystals to 3 mm aesthetically scattered on the vuggy, botryoidal mottramite crust covering the matrix. The periphery wear is noted, but has absolutely minimal impact to the importance of this rare combination specimen. Of all the Tsumeb material we have offered at auction, I cannot remember a dioptase on mottramite specimen anywhere close to the quality of this one. Old-time material from the Mullane Collection.
