Item Description
Morenci Mine and Arizona dioptases are difficult to obtain, in general, in large and fine specimens such as this. This large, sculptural plate of banded chrysocolla is covered with very sparkly, gemmy, rich emerald-green dioptase microcrystals on the undulating surface. The trivial bit of contacting and spotted bruising is certainly not a detraction, for such rich coverage. IT LOOKS LIKE GREEN SUGAR, and is among the largest and richest such examples from a US locality I have seen. Dioptase is exceedingly rare at Morenci and other Arizona locales. A large-sized plate is hard to come by, nearly unprecedented. Valued at $600-800. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!
