When it comes to Dioptase, there is no locality greater or more prolific than Tsumeb for quantity and top color and luster. Many of the 3-4 mm Dioptases are gemmy, and show the brilliant green fire that is so eye-catching. The final touch to these sharp, lustrous trigonal crystals is the fact that they are sitting on a matrix of Calcite rhombs, which is one of the most desired of Dioptase combinations from Tsumeb. The Calcite is even fluorescent. A choice and aesthetic small cab.
