Dioptase on Calcite

A classic Tsumeb combo consisting of bright emerald green Dioptase crystals on snow-white Calcite. A lustrous, deep emerald green, 12mm Dioptase crystal is front and center on this arresting piece and it is attended by two open clusters on either end of the specimen that are composed of 1 to 3 mm, super bright and gemmy Dioptase crystals with the cluster on one side sprinkled with over a dozen crystals that are more isolated and the other grouping is more densely populated with bright little crystals. These groups serve to add considerable aesthetics and balance to this showy Tsumeb piece. The white Calcite rhombs are tightly aggregated and create the perfect contrasting backdrop for the emerald green Dioptase. The piece is small, to be honest (measure it to confirm the size is a smallish miniature but not a thumbnail), but SOOOO gorgeous! This is as close to looking like artificial green sugar, as dioptase gets. Small crystals, but the best of the best quality from the mid-1980s.
