Dioptase on Calcite

Dioptase on/in Calcite is one of the great Tsumeb Mine's signature combinations. The hundreds of mm-size Dioptase crystals are GEMMY, well-formed, and they look like fields of green sugar crystals spread out across Calcite rhombs. Already pretty on the face of it, the contrasts in form, size, and color serve to magnify this attractive aesthetic. The orange-pink fluorescence of the Calcite adds even more to the allure. Always in demand, this is one of those Tsumeb pieces that always garners attention when they become available. It is not notable for size or perfection, but it is beautiful.
