When it comes to Dioptase, there is no locality greater or more prolific than Tsumeb for quantity and quality. This gorgeous specimen has super lustrous, sharply-formed crystals with top emerald-green color that made these specimens so famous. These stunning Dioptase crystals are gemmy to translucent and vary in size from about 2 mm around the edges to large, 1.2 cm crystals at the central part of the cluster front-and-center! These big, beautiful crystals are prominent and stand right out on the piece for great three-dimensionality. They final touch to these sharp, lustrous trigonal crystals is the fact that they are sitting on a mound on classic contrasting white Calcite matrix that is apparent around the edges. This is a very aesthetic and well-composed Dioptase miniature from the Pohl collection. A classic example of the mid-1980s, iconic dioptase finds, as a full miniature. Valued $2000-plus.
